SEG September 2015 Enews Update
Three events in mid-September in Smithers promise a bit of everything: On Thursday September 17 you can update your training with a jam-packed day organized by APEGBC and then register for the annual Smithers Exploration Group golf tournament; on Friday September 18 you can golf all day and then dine in style; on Saturday September 19 you can pick up a bargain at a special SEG auction.

The Smithers Exploration Group's annual golf tournament is just around the corner. Click here for the poster with all the information. Meanwhile here are the basics:

- Cost: $75 golf and dinner; $35 for dinner alone (cash or cheque only)

Training day with APEGBC North
The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists BC – Northern Branch has put together a triple-threat training day on Thursday September 17 open to everyone. You do not have to be a member of APEGBC or SEG. There will be presentations by APEG BC’s OQM Team and ‘Lyn Anglin (APEGBC Councilor), and an afternoon workshop with Alan Mallory, P.Eng.
- 8:30 – 10:30 am – APEGBC OQM Presentation
- 10:30 – 10:45 am – Coffee Break
- 10:45 – 11:45 am – Presentation by ‘Lyn Anglin
- 11:45 – 12:45 pm – Presentation and slide show by Alan Mallory
- 12:45 – 1:30 pm – Lunch
- 1:30 – 4:30 pm – Workshop with Alan Mallory

Auction
Ganokwa Camp
Smithers Exploration Group is moving on to a new relationship with the NWCC School of Exploration and Mining. That means SEG is selling the equipment it has acquired in its partnership with the School. Kerr’s Auction will conduct an auction on Saturday September 19 at the old Ganokwa training camp at km 19 on the Old Babine Lake Road, turn right after the Ganokwa Creek bridge.
There will be a ton of equipment, appliances and furniture….great for the cabin or a bush camp or a prospector. We’re selling everything from wall tents to coffee urns, from core splitters to propane ranges.

Bulkley Valley Community Resources Board seeks board members
The Bulkley Valley Community Resources Board (BVCRB) monitors existing land use plans and advises government and industry on public land-use decisions within the Bulkley Timber Supply Area. Its 12-member volunteer board represents the range of value perspectives within the community.
The Board is seeking nominations for four new members. Members are appointed for a three-year term and meet 10 times per year. SEG is helping to get the word out.
