SEG January 2020 Enews Update

Roundup and Rock Talk 2020 are just around the corner…Join Smithers Exploration Group at our regional table on the Monday and Tuesday at Roundup in Vancouver and plan to talk rocks at Rock Talk in Smithers February 19, 20 and 21.

  • SEG’s table in the concourse at Roundup is a must stop on January 20 and 21: Check out a NEW metallogenic model for Laramide Age deposits, Central BC! And pick up your 2020 SEG directory.
  • Rock Talk 2020 on February 19, 20 and 21 in Smithers: Day 1 is all about the rocks with the BCGS MapPlace 2;  a workshop on the evolution of the Huckleberry Mine and new tectonomagmatic structural insights of the Skeena Arch. Day 2 brings together project updates from northern BC. And backing it all up – SEG’s collection of Cordilleran rock suites which the geos above are examining at last year's Rock Talk. Then it's a ski day at Hudson Bay Mountain.

Roundup 2020, Vancouver Convention Centre East, January 20-23

Smithers Exploration Group will have a strong presence at AME’s Roundup 2020 talking about the rocks of the north.

Monday January 20 and Tuesday January 21:  SEG’s regional table in the concourse outside the technical presentations is a must see. Geologists with decades of experience in northern BC have developed a NEW metallogenic model for Laramide Age deposits in Central BC! Peter Ogryzlo will be at the SEG table with a poster demonstrating the potential of Central BC.  Join him on Monday and Tuesday.

Some of SEG’s collection of Cordilleran rock suites are making the trip south from their home in SEG’s Rock Room, thanks to Bandstra Transportation.  Check out the suites and learn more about how you can use the collection in preparation for the 2020 field season.

While you're at the table get all the details on Rock Talk 2020 in Smithers February 19, 20 and 21, including the new tectonomagmatic structural insights of the Skeena Arch with Tom Richards, a workshop on the evolution on Huckleberry Mine and the project updates from greenfields to advanced stage to operating mines. See the Rock Talk preliminary program below.

And of course the annual SEG directory will be available at the SEG table, BC Night and the publication table near registration.

Special thanks to Bandstra Transportation for their continuing support moving SEG and its rocks from Smithers to Vancouver.

Thursday February 20: Technical presentations gearing up from grassroots exploration throughout the Golden Triangle and transitioning into advanced-stage projects in the region and finishing with the producing Brucejack and Red Chris mines.

Friday February 21: Strap on your gear for a ski day at the Hudson Bay Mountain!

Stay tuned for details on the Wednesday morning session with the BC Geological Survey. Peter Ogryzlo will handle the Huckleberry workshop and Tom Richards lays out the Skeena Arch. Thursday’s program will focus on early stage/green fields projects in the morning and brownfields/late stage projects and operating mines in the afternoon.
