SEG October 2013 Enews Update

Friday November 8 Rocks 'n Rambling

The first Rocks 'n Rambling for the season takes place Friday November 8 at Eagle Peak Resources/Metal Mountain office at 1-3431 19th Avenue in Smithers from 4:30 to 6:30. If you're in town please feel free to drop by and bring your thoughts on the incredible geology of northern BC.

Friday December 6 SEG Christmas Party

It's never too early to plan for Christmas. The annual SEG Christmas party will take place on Friday December 6 at the Smithers Golf and Country Club. Tickets are $35 for dinner and dance and are available for purchase at Hetherington and Hooper or the Ministry of Energy and Mines in Smithers. Check out the poster for details.

January 27 and 28 SEG Booth at Roundup 2014

SEG will have its usual booth at Roundup at the door to the trade show featuring the 2014 SEG directory. We need volunteers to staff the booth! If you can lend a hand for a couple of hours on Monday or Tuesday, please drop me a line at cogryzlo@telus.net

February 19 to 21

February 19 to 21 is tentatively scheduled for Rock Talk 2014  SEG organizes Rock Talk every February to showcase exploration projects in northern BC with a jam-packed day of technical talks. The technical presentations are sandwiched between an educational day and a ski day – both important components of this annual event. We'll squeeze SEG's annual general meeting into registration night on February 19.

AME BC information

Land Use Issues:  AME BC's land use committees wants to know about any land-use related issues SEG members may be encountering. They are doing a province-wide enquiry so they can have a list of common issues.

AME BC call for applications for the Prospectors' Tent at Roundup: The Prospectors’ Tent is an opportunity for prospectors to present hard-earned mineral properties to the delegates attending AME BC's Mineral Exploration Roundup 2014. Application forms and information regarding the Prospectors' Tent can be found at: http://www.amebc.ca/roundup/overview-2014/conferenceprogram2014/prospectorstent_2014.aspx.

November 18 Deadline for nomination of AME BC Directors: AME BC invites you to nominate candidates for the election of AME BC's Board of Directors. AME BC members only may nominate a candidate for the 2014 AME BC Board of Directors.  Please note the following procedure.  
Your nomination must:

  1. Be made in writing;
  2. Be signed by at least 10 AME BC members;
  3. Include written consent of the nominee; and
  4. Be submitted to AME BC on or before November 18, 2013
