SEG April 2019 Enews Update
The April newsletter is a bit early – better than having it go out on April Fool’s Day! And no fooling – the SEG Cordilleran Rock Suites collection was a big hit at Rock Talk as demonstrated above.

- Remember KEG is April 9 and 10 in Kamloops, including AME’s regional workshop on Notice of Work permitting
- Still at KEG, SEG will speak on our Rock Room collection as the final presentation and remember to pick up a copy of the SEG directory at the publication table.

- Friday May 10 is Mining Month luncheon in Smithers.

Rocks ‘n Rambling, Smithers, 4:30 pm today
Just a quick invitation to drop by the SEG office after work today for a spring Rocks 'n Rambling. It's been such a busy winter, we haven't had time to squeeze one in and April and May promise to be just as busy. So please come by the SEG office this afternoon for an informal get-together.

KEG Conference and Trade Show, Kamloops, April 9 and 10
Kamloops Exploration Group is putting the finishing touches on its annual KEG Conference and Trade Show April 9 and 10 in Kamloops. Click here for all the details on the conference.
Smithers Exploration Group invites everyone to check out the final presentation of the conference with Anastasia Ledwon, the administrator of SEG’s important Cordilleran Rock Suites Collection. She’ll be on the floor as well for both days. And pick up the 2019 SEG directory at the publication table.
Also AME is hosting a pre-KEG workshop on Monday April 8 in Kamloops featuring a morning session on Notice of Work permitting and afternoon workshop on cultural awareness followed by a session on risk management.

Northwest Regional Geologist posting
The Northwest is getting a regional geologist based in Smithers, after two years without anyone in the position. The Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources (MEMPR) will post the position soon, so keep your eye out for that. Smithers Exploration Group will distribute the posting, in addition it being available on the usual government channels.
Mining Month Luncheon Friday May 10 Smithers
Planning is underway for our annual Mining Month luncheon Friday May10 in partnership with the Smithers District Chamber of Commerce. The theme for this year’s luncheon is Innovation Partnerships.
Chad Day, President of the Tahltan Central Government and Corrine McKay, Secretary Treasurer of the Nisga’a Lisims Government will speak about their relationships with the minerals industry in their respective territories and their involvement in the BC Regional Mining Alliance.
Tickets for this year’s luncheon will be $25 and will go on sale through the Smithers Chamber of Commerce in mid-April.
