SEG December 2016 Enews Update
Plan ahead for our Christmas party in ten days and for Rock Talk in mid-February. If you’re planning on joining us for the SEG Christmas Cocktail party on Friday December 9, it’s time to get your tickets. We’re counting noses to ensure there is lots of everything for everyone. Then it’s into the new year and Roundup 2017. SEG is trying something different this year, and focusing its attention on the Prospectors’ Tent, so visit us on there to get your directory. Rock Talk 2017 will be February 15-17 with a focus on two northwest deposit profiles, followed by short project updates. Northwest Community College School of Exploration and Mining has two new programs. And some sad news – long-time SEG member Dick Konschuh, passed away recently and I know many of you know his wife Elaine. We’ll be thinking of her at the Celebration of Life for Dick at the Smithers Legion, at 1 pm Wednesday November 30.
SEG Christmas Cocktail Party
Friday December 9
6 to 10 pm
Come and celebrate Christmas with Smithers Exploration Group on December 9th with classic rock, cool jazz, and excellent appies...all at the very reasonable price of $20. We're taking over the Old Church in Smithers from 6 to 10 pm and we hope you can join us for live music and nibblies.
Put on some cool duds, turn the lights down low and swing to some jazz vocals and classic rock from Jazzmatazz and the Cooleraters. They're the newest band in the Smithers area: Cheryl Butler and Elaine Edmison on vocals; Peter Ogryzlo on keyboard and George Stokes on stand up bass. Complete the uptown picture with a cash car, appies and seasonal Smithers sophistication.
December 9 is just over a week away, so register and buy your tickets at Eventbrite for only $20. It’s the perfect Christmas office party or a night out with friends. If you're not keen on paying online, you can just email smithersexplorationgroup@gmail.com and we’ll see you get your tickets.
We’re looking forward to a fun evening…..Friday December 9 from 6 to 10 pm at the Old Church in Smithers.
AME Roundup 2017
Vancouver Convention Centre East
January 23 – 26
Smithers Exploration Group will be at AME Exploration Roundup 2017 in the Vancouver Convention Centre East, under the sails of Canada Place Janaury 23-26, 2017. Watch for our annual directory at the publication table operated by AME in the registration area and at the Prospectors' Tent in the trade show. We are taking a slightly different approach with Roundup in 2017 with our presence distributed around the floor of the trade show and in the various forums, instead of focused on a booth. Make sure you drop by the table and the Prospectors' tent to get your 2017 SEG directory and catch up on what's hot in northwest BC.
By the way, SEG is organizing the northwest table at the Prospectors’ Tent during Roundup. If you’re a prospector with great properties to promote at the northwest table, drop SEG president Rob Maurer a note at maurerexploration@gmail.com
See you at AME Roundup 2017.
