Rock Talk 2026

Rock Talk 2025 attracts large and diverse crowd

Rock Talk 2025 was held February 18 to 20 in Smithers with more than 105 delegates jamming the Smithers Curling Rink. Thanks to the work of Regional Geologist Nate Corcoran, the speakers covered the full range of exploration and mining projects in northwest BC, as well as the North Central region.

Rock Talk 2025 sponsors were very supportive in making Rock Talk a success and laid the groundwork for SEG’s year-round work on behalf of the mineral industry in the region.

Rock Talk 2025 attracted a broader range of delegates than ever before. Of course our loyal local supporters and industry people from the Lower Mainland and the Island dominated the registration. But we had visitors from Vernon, Trail, Cranbrook, Golden, Calgary, Edmonton, North Battleford, Toronto, Val D’Or and Golden, Colorado. Interesting mix.  Thanks to everyone for making Rock Talk 2025 a success.

Thanks also to the Rock Talk 2025 committee with Regan Chernish, Lorie Farrell, Heather Gallagher, Judi L’Orsa, and Chris Ogryzlo plus volunteer Tracy McIntyre.  Apologies to anyone missing from the list.

Rock Talk isn't just about rocks...check out our curling 101 session.
