SEG January 2016 Enews Update
Happy New Year to everyone from Smithers Exploration Group and thanks to our sponsors for making the Christmas party a success. We’re starting 2016 off with Rocks ‘n Rambling on Friday January 8. That’s followed in short order by AME BC’s Mineral Exploration Roundup from January 25 to 28 with the SEG booth open on the Monday and Tuesday. In February please join us for Rock Talk 2016 on February 17, 18 and 19 in Smithers. And it’s never too early to get ready for Minerals North 2016 hosted this by Smithers and Telkwa on May 18, 19 and 20 – registration is open.

Roundup 2016

SEG booth on Monday and Tuesday
With AME BC’s Roundup in a couple of weeks in Vancouver January 25 – 28, it’s time to plan to pick up your 2016 SEG directory. We will be at Roundup 2016 as usual in the Vancouver Convention Centre East, under the sails of Canada Place. We’re at booths 1624/1626, on the corner next to the Bistro on Monday January 25 and Tuesday January 26. Watch for the high viz vest hoisted above the booth.

Rock Talk 2016
February 17, 18 and 20
SEG’s Rock Talk 2016 will present an interesting and important lineup in February in Smithers at the Smithers Curling Club. The annual conference combines education sessions, technical presentations and a day of skiing to cap it off.
- Wednesday February 17: morning session 9-12 Eskay Creek core, maps and deposit focus, afternoon 1-4 Stikine Terrane reconstruction session
- Wednesday February 17: evening SEG Annual General Meeting and registration
- Thursday Feb 18: 9-12 Red Chris rock and paper focus, afternoon 1-4 project updates
- Friday Feb 19: core shack and ski day

Minerals North 2016

Registration is now open for Minerals North 2016, being hosted in Smithers and Telkwa May 18 – 20, 2016. The Organizing Committee is thrilled to announce that marketing expert and broadcast producer Terry O-Reilly has confirmed his attendance as our keynote speaker. AME BC members elect directors

If you’re a member of the Association for Mineral Exploration BC please watch for voting instructions for the election of six directors which opens on January 18. Please note that SEG member Jill Pardoe is standing for election. I have two more years of the AME BC Board of Directors and want to encourage eligible members to vote. AME BC is providing important leadership in ensuring the government and communities value the minerals industry.
