SEG March 2017 Enews Update- We have a couple of updates to start off this newsletter from Smithers Exploration Group: First, a farewell to Jeff Kyba as the Northwest Regional Geologist and second, a change at the SEG board with a big thanks to Rob Maurer (see above) who has stepped down as president of SEG.
- Now to your calendar…if you’re in Smithers you’ll want to mark Friday March 10 for Rocks ‘n Rambling.
- Then if you didn’t get your SEG directory at Roundup, watch for them at PDAC March 5-8 in Toronto at AME and MEM booths, KEG April 4 and 5 in Kamloops at the CJL booth, and Minerals North April 25-27 in Prince George.
- May will also be a busy month. The provincial election is May 9 and we encourage you to Vote Mining. Then it’s Mining Week and SEG along with the Smithers District Chamber of Commerce will host a Mining Week luncheon on Friday May 12 in Smithers in advance of Mining Week.
Thanks from SEGThanks to Jeff Kyba and Rob Maurer from Smithers Exploration Group. Jeff has left the position of Northwest Regional Geologist to work in the private sector. He’ll maintain his base in Smithers but will be working in the field – land and water-based. Good luck and thanks, Jeff. Howard Davies, Regional Director with the Ministry of Energy and Mines thanks Jeff for his time with MEM during Rock Talk 2017. We also want to thank Rob Maurer for his three years of leadership at president of SEG. Rob remains on the SEG board as a director and I’ll fill his shoes as president this year.
