Northwest Regional Geologist Sean Tombe starts October 7This is truly exciting news. Northwest BC has a new regional geologist. Sean Tombe starts work out of Smithers on October 7. Sean worked at Brucejack from exploration through to production including a Masters in the Brucejack deposit through the University of Alberta. He is currently working at Silvertip Mine where he is also on mine rescue team. SEG has been advocating for the regional geologist position for several years, knowing how important the position is to the success of the mineral exploration and mining industries in the northwest. We would like to thank the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources for responding to the advocacy, and Northwest Regional Director Howard Davies for his unswerving commitment to hiring a regional geo for the region. Welcome Sean. SEG Fall BBQ, Friday September 13SEG’s new celebration of the current field season is a fall barbeque at the Rock Room at the SEG office. - Time: 5 to 7 pm
- Place: SEG office 101 – 3423 Fulton Ave, Smithers BC
SEG 2020 directorySmithers Exploration Group’s annual directory is a hot item at AME’s Roundup in January, so you don’t want to be disappointed by missing out on getting your ad ready. We distributed 500 copies at Roundup 2019 and that’s a great way of getting your services noticed. An ad in the directory is a great bang for your advertising buck but you can also be listed in the directory free of charge. If your listing contact information has changed – phone or email – or if you are not yet listed, please send us the new information. IMPORTANT - We are also looking for high resolution photographs of your 2019 summer field work. Watch for details on rates and advertising deadlines. If your listing information has changed and if you have some hi-res photos, please contact Elaine Konschuh at merok@telus.net Bulkley Valley Fall Fair, SEG boothThanks to Lorie Farrell and her Outreach crew for another successful booth at the Bulkley Valley Exhibition August 22-25. The 100th fair was a jam-packed event and SEG was proud to be part of the celebrations. |
