SEG in the Classroom

SEG in the Classroom

SEG supports  students who want to rock

Despite the northern COVID restrictions, SEG has come up with a way to continue connecting with teachers and students who want to use earth science teaching tools. Connecting teachers to MineralsEd  and its wide variety of online and other resources will make it easier for teachers to introduce students to geology and mining.  SEG has reached out to schools in the Smithers area to connect teachers to those resources and to pay for any expenses involved. Check out what we can offer.

Field Trips

Elementary schools can apply for sponsorship of trips to historic mining sites, such as Barkerville or the Driftwood Fossil Beds. For example in the past SEG has donated to the following trips:

If your school is fund-raising for such a field trip, please contact smithersexplorationgroup@gmail.com and we'll be pleased to consider your request.
