Tech Talks

September 25

The first Tech Talk is titled “Heavy Mineral Sampling in the Arabian Shield: The search for Ophir”.   Peter Ogryzlo draws on his years of exploration work in Yemen with this Biblical quotation that explains the modern day interest in Yemen's gold prospects:  "And she (Sheba) gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold..."  1 Kings 10.  The king is Solomon. A talent is around 30 kg.  The gift was around 3.6 tonnes of gold or 116,000 ounces.  This would take around 100 camels.”

Sounds intriguing?   Please RSVP to this tempting invitation so we know how much pizza to order.

There is no charge for this event.
